They were my first clients when I began my business about four years ago. Gracie was just one at the time. They put their memories in my 15-year-old hands. I will forever be grateful for that.

Now, Hudson is one and there is such a similarity between the little boy he is and the little girl I first photographed years ago. It’s a funny thing. Since their session, I’ve found myself reflecting on my photographic journey (as I often do)… from my first session with little Grace and where I was then and how far I’ve come… not just photographically, but as a person in general. I’ll always be amazed and tremendously thankful for the way my passion has evolved and shaped who I am.

Last night, I spent a great deal of time reading through some of my first posts and immersing myself in my first few sessions. Sure, the photos may be a touch over-edited, a bit out of focus, and a little strangely lit, but I hold them so close to my heart. I’m sure many photographers avoid looking back at their first few sessions and stills. Maybe I’m just different… because when I look at those photos, I don’t see their flaws. No, I see adoration, devotion, ambition, desire, wishfulness, eagerness, and a lot of love. After all, those images are where it all began.

These photographs make my heart smile. I just love this family.

Smiles and lots of love,

Taylor
